In cases in which patients show signs of parodontitis or periodontitis,
an extensive and exact diagnosis is first conducted in the dental
clinics. Only when the causes of the disease are known is it possible to
implement effective therapy. The patient is first interviewed at length. This is then followed by compiling an individual status report on the tooth-jaw-mouth region in which a number of factors are taken into consideration. These include the following:
An accurate bacterial examination provides information on which pathogens are involved in individual patients. This allows treatment of periodontitis to be made selectively and effectively. In addition any projecting filling edges, unfavourably shaped bridges, niches or similar irregularities are also recorded. Any X-rays required are made with low-radiation equipment. Once all these tests have been completed, the course of treatment aimed at giving you back your radiant smile is then discussed with you.
